Egoraptor brought to the world a style that people love. What people need to realize is that great art often comes from great art. L4S shares certain qualities with Awesome animations, but it isn't a rip off. A rip off would be completely unoriginal, hence rip off.
This post reminds me of one egoraptor made once...
Something about the colour and the movements reminds me of the Egoistic Velociraptor.
I'm really not too sure what to think of this ''EGORAPTOR LOOKALIKE'' stuff. I mean, it's obvious flash movies are based on hypes a lot, and it would seem like most artists out here go hivemind on each other, but why should that be something bad? The better sped up, shouting, raging flash movies aren't that much like Egoraptors flash movies. And really, if someone has a good concept, why not use it aswell?
The animating scene has always been subjective to big hypes though, there's always more parody than originality coming around, same goes with Hollywood though. I mean, after The Incredible 4 there suddenly were hell of a lot of superhero movies coming around, The Hulk, The Dark Knight, and so on.
Really, people need to start blamming things because it ''somewhat looks a tad bit like Egoraptor's'', because after all, it's the jokes that count. Because really, are we all going to blam those silly Anime-flashes now too, because they look Japanese and ''it's been done before, only better''? People need to start looking around a tad bit more. ;3

But yeah, these days it's easily said that something "rips off (instert some big name here)". In this case it's Egoraptor.
I don't care all that much about it, I just let it be. It would be epic if someone would rip-off my style or something even if that is ridicilous.
And oh yeah, because of "AWESOME" it also encourages artists to do similiar drawings because they lack the expierence or so. But I would say Oney's style just reminds a bit of Egoraptor in terms of artwork, but otherwise they are whole different things.
Yeah ive gotta agree with you there. Oney and Egoraptor have very different styles, especialy in the way the characters are drawn. Yeah there are times when certain parts are similair, but hell, chances are whenever youve made something, someone somewhere in the world has done something similair in a similair style. Especially considering the style is so basic, that makes it much easier to overlap. Theres not as much you can do with simple design as you can with detailed design. And i reckon the SPEED comes from the fact that if you actualy PLAY L4D, especially on a harder difficulty, its a very fast game, having to move to keep up with the group, how fast the zombies run, and how you have to react quickly otherwise youll get your nipples torn off by hunter
I prefer Oney's stuff better than ego's. It is slightly different art wise. I really don't see why people get so worked up over it. Also, I forgot my point. Perhaps it was that Ego's can't 'own' a style.
Left 4 Speed wasn't an AWESOME parody, true that, but in my opinion Left 4 Speed, Irod Bad, the AWESOME movies etc. are all in the same ballpark* when it comes to the type of parody it is and the sort of comedy used.
*I don't know why I'm using Baseball analogies, I'm British.

I'd say they're pretty similar
no noses, faces mostly made up of big eyes and mouths, very simplified designs, a decent amount of fbf (which is a good thing I guess), same line width all over, no shading, fast pace, lineless/simple backgrounds, etc
Egoraptor invented exageration and fast-paced humor...
Just an observation. The most replies you've ever gotten on your blog is about another artist. Maybe you shouldn't worry so much about what others think about someone else and concentrate on promoting your stuff.
